Taufiq is a law lecturer and researcher at Gadjah Mada University. He is interested in tax law, trade and customs law, and energy law studies. He has conducted research with a variety of partners, including public institutions, private institutions, and universities, both at the national and international levels. His work has been widely published in books, book chapters, journals, policy papers, and op-ed articles. He has also spoken at several seminars, legal consultations, guest lectures, and international conferences. Currently, He is the Director of the Law Career Development Center (LCDC) and the Vice Director of the Indonesian Center for Tax Law (ICTL) at the UGM Faculty of Law.
Prior to joining Universitas Gadjah Mada, He worked as a lawyer and holds licenses to practice law as an advocate from the Indonesian Bar Association (PERADI) and as a tax lawyer from the Indonesian Tax Court. He holds a bachelor's degree in law (S.H.) from Gadjah Mada University in Indonesia and a master's degree in law (LL.M.) from Leiden University in the Netherlands. He is a member of the International Fiscal Association (IFA) and the Society of International Economic Law (SIEL).
