Mutliple droplets are drop of water which continuously dropped on a surface by certain time difference. The phenomenon of collision between droplets and a solid surface can be found in a variety of applications, one of them is a cooling process. The cooling process is carried out with a number of water droplets and by spraying or commonly known as spray cooling. When droplet impingement on the surface, the droplet will spread (spreading) and collecting back (recoil). In this study, the effect of frequency drops against cooling effectiveness and temperature decrease rate will be observed. Visualization process is used to find maximum spreading which is the factor of coooling effectiveness. The observation is performed by using a variable drops to 100 and 120 drops/minute. The surface is used Stainless Steel with the temperature 100 and 110 oC. Image processing techniques are used to extract the data sequentially from the images that successfully taken by using high-speed camera. The test results show that the variation frequency drops will affect the cooling effectiveness and the temperature decrease rate. That the higher frequency drops, the cooling effectiveness and temperature decrease rate will be increasead.
